IRSE Switzerland

On the initiative of the IRSE CH Experience Group, the Swiss Section of IRSE was founded on 5 May 2011. With a lot of enthusiasm and joy, Dr. Markus Montigel, as the first President, built up the Swiss Section together with the Board. We look back on two great Swiss Conventions and many successful and exciting events. Today, after 13 years, we can already count over 70 members.

The majority of our members are firmly anchored in the railway industry. The Swiss Section organises several events every year, the aim of which is the professional exchange among the participants. The events are primarily technically oriented and are preferably held at facilities under construction or in operation. The members are constantly expanding their expertise and discussing innovations and further developments.

Aim of the IRSE Swiss Section

Well-trained personnel is not easy to find in the railway industry. All railways and suppliers are looking for skilled workers. The challenge to recruit specialists for the industry is getting tougher and tougher.

The IRSE Swiss Section has made it its task to present railway technology in a more attractive way by means of interesting examples. At the same time, IRSE promotes networking at various events and encourages discussions on trends and future scenarios.

Through a lively exchange of experience among specialists on existing and future technologies, it succeeds in putting railway technology in an exciting light. By visiting modern and innovative companies, engineers learn about the potential of public transport and advance railway automation. In addition, helpful ideas can be gathered for their own current activities.

Companies benefit from interesting, professionally well-informed employees who are networked in the industry and who also look beyond their own borders.
